When Marnie Was There, released last year, is the Ghibli film doomed to be remembered more for not making a ton of money, thus leading Ghibli into a state of quasi-existence, than for whether it was any good or not.
(For what it’s worth, I liked it a lot.)
But now you’ll be able to decide for yourself, as GKids Films are set to release Marnie in the States this spring. According to Deadline, Gkids will release the film theatrically in an “English-language version.”
GKids handles distribution on many of Ghibli’s films, and most recently released Princess Kaguya Stateside.
