Ad Features Studio Ghibli’s Princess Kaguya Anime Film

Studio Ghibli’s upcoming Princess Kaguya anime film marks the first by director and studio co-founder Isao Takahata since 1999’s My Neighbors the Yamadas. While it was originally set to open on July 20 alongside Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises (Kaze Tachinu), it was delayed to November 23, and now it’s being featured in an ad for Eyeful Home.

The very short ad for the single-family wooden house manufacturer stars actress/singer/spokesperson Nao Matsushita, and contains some quick glimpses at the Princess Kaguya film’s stunning and unique style.

Princess Kaguya is based on the 10th century Japanese folk tale Taketori Monogatari (The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter), which tells the story of moon princess Kaguya-hime. The princess was discovered as a baby inside the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant, and her yarn has been spun in many anime and other media in the past.
