I already considered Hawaiians a bunch of lucky ducks due to their wise reverence for classic tokusatsu television shows like Kikaida and Kamen Rider. Now there’s another reason to be mildly to very envious of them, because One Piece Film Strong World, the tenth movie spawned from Eiichiro Oda’s series, will be screening there in April.
Strong World, which is most notable for Oda’s intimate involvement in overseeing production, will be featured in the Hawaii International Film Festival’s Spring Showcase 2010 on April 18 and 20.
Other films screening during the Showcase include Mamoru Hosoda’s Summer Wars, as well as a slew of live-action pieces like the much-anticipated Robogeisha. If you happen to live in Hawaii, mark your calendars and remember to gloat after the fact!
