Baki Manga Surpasses 100 Million Copies in Circulation

Baki Manga Surpasses 100 Million CopiesIt’s a huge day for Keisuke Itagaki’s Baki manga franchise. The manga, which has been going in some way, shape or form since 1991, now has over 100 million copies in circulation. To celebrate, the franchise’s official YouTube channel has unveiled a special video with some famous scenes from the manga.

Itagaki first launched Baki the Grappler in the pages of Weekly Shonen Champion in 1991. The 42 volume Baki the Grappler was quickly followed by Baki in 1999—then Baki Hanma, Baki-Dou, Bakidou and the current Baki Rahen. All told, there are now 149 volumes of the manga.

There are also the multiple anime adaptations, including the upcoming Baki vs. Kengan Ashura.

Do you own one of the over 100 million copies of Baki out in the world?
