World Trigger Takes One-Month Health Hiatus

World Trigger Takes One-Month Health HiatusDaisuke Ashihara’s World Trigger will be skipping out on February’s issue of Jump SQ, which goes on sale January 4. That’s because Ashihara is taking a break due to health issues, reports the official Twitter account for the manga.

Ashihara has previously taken a few months off in the past few years. The manga originally debuted in the weekly Shonen Jump in 2013, and moved over to the monthly Jump SQ in 2018.

Here’s wishing Ashihara a well-earned, restful hiatus.

There are currently 26 collected volumes of World Trigger, which has also inspired multiple seasons of anime.

Here’s how Viz Media describes the first volume:

Earth is under constant threat from Neighbors, invincible monsters from another dimension that destroy our way of life. At least we have the elite warriors of Border, who co-opt alien technology to fight back!

Our hero Osamu Mikumo may not be the best agent, but he’ll do whatever it takes to defend life on Earth as we know it.

When Osamu meets a feisty humanoid Neighbor named Yuma, everything that he thinks is right is turned on its head. Can the two natural enemies ever become friends?
