Prolific voice actress Fairouz Ai and her agency both revealed that she will be decreasing her work load for health reasons. She has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (a.k.a. PTSD).
Many fans would be concerned about what has caused this for Ai. She acknowledged this in her note, but said that the cause of the PTSD is a private matter. She does not wish to discuss it publicly, and she does not want people to poke into her personal life or hypothesize what could have happened.
The PTSD involves something that happened a few months ago. She thinks it’s most important right now to step away from her activities so she can focus on her physical and mental health. She will be getting help from her doctors.
Ai apologized to her fans and “the wonderful production teams that create my favorite works and characters” for causing them any worry or being inconvenient. She said she will work hard on getting better, and appears interested in returning to her normal work and activities down the line.
Some of her credits include Kikoru Shinomiya in Kaiju No. 8, Nao Umiyama in 365 Days to the Wedding; Gremory in Akuma-kun; Belle Lablac in Bye Bye, Earth; Power in Chainsaw Man; Delta in The Eminence in Shadow; Raelza in Handyman Saitō in Another World; Hibiki Sakura in How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?; Sumire in In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki; Masked Wonder in Magical Girl Raising Project Restart; Rinia Dedorudia in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation; Marguerite in My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer; Alisa in Pokémon Concierge; Slime in Ragna Crimson; Gawain in The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse; and Nelia Cunningham in The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess, among many others.
Best wishes to Ai in bettering her health!
