More tennis action is on the way thanks to the official reveal that The Prince of Tennis II anime is getting a sequel series. The news was announced during the series’s 20th anniversary celebrations, which took the opportunity to showcase the first visual for The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup, which has the cast and staff of The Prince of Tennis II Hyotei vs Rikkai Game of Future anime film returning for more.
There’s also a teaser trailer, but it’s currently region-locked to Japan.
Keiichiro Kawaguchi is on board as director, with Akiharu Ishii as character designer and chief animation director. Mitsutaka Hirota is back on series composition for the Studio KAI and M.S.C. production, which also has the rest of the staff from the aforementioned 2021 anime film production on board.

Crunchyroll streamed the 2011 The Prince of Tennis II anime and its 2014 OVA followup as they debuted in Japan. Here’s the official synopsis of the former:
Middle school students fought fiercely against one another in a national tournament. Now, 50 chosen representatives return to fight again as high school students! The stage is the U-17 (Under Seventeen) Japanese Representative Training Camp. Middle school students have been invited for the first time to a camp known to produce the best Japanese tennis players. National champions from Seigaku, Hyotei, Rikkai, Shitenhoji… With all the rivals from the national tournament attending, everyone eagerly awaits their reunion.
