Get Ready to Celebrate 20 Years of The Prince of Tennis Anime!

Can you believe 2021 marks twenty years of The Prince of Tennis anime? Plans are already being made to celebrate in Japan.

The “TeniPri 20th Anniversary Event -Future-” will take place October 10 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. The date was chosen because that will be the exact anniversary of when the anime first aired.

The event will include a number of the Japanese voice actors, including Junko Minagawa (who stars as Ryoma Echizen), Ryotaro Okiayu (Kunimitsu Tezuka), Takayuki Kondō (Shuichiro Ôishi), Yuki Kaida (Shusuke Fuji), and Kenjiro Tsuda (Sadaharu Inui).

A logo that shows some of the schools’ colors (along with the all-important number 20) was also revealed.

Between now and October 10, YouTube channel The New Prince of Tennis will be playing an episode of the anime each weeknight at 9 Japanese time. This is only available to premium members, though.

The month before the event will also see the release of the new movie Ryoma! Rebirth: The Prince of Tennis.
