Symphogear Co-Creator’s Technoroid Anime Hit with COVID-19 Delay

The Technoroid Overmind anime—which is a mixed media project that comes from Symphogear co-creator Noriyasu Agematsu and anime production house Doga Kobo—has officially been hit with a delay. It was originally scheduled to premiere in Japan this July, but the studio had to shut down earlier this month due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 between staff members.

Doga Kobo shut down between April 6 and April 17 to control the spread, ensuring that everyone stayed out of the office during this period. Concerns were first expressed that this season’s Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie anime might have some delays as a result, but Technoroid Overmind is the only title that seems to be affected at the moment.

Here’s a quick teaser from the official website:

There’s no new broadcast schedule yet, but it’s being discussed and will be revealed once it’s ready.

In addition to composer Noriyasu Agematsu leading the charge, the Technoroid Overmind anime has Imu Gahi (Sonny Boy episode 4 director) at the helm, with Ayumi Sekine (IDOLiSH7) on series composition and Saori Sakiguchi (number24) on character designs.
