Sephiroth arrives in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tomorrow. Ahead of the highly anticipated addition, Nintendo released a YouTube video — “Mr. Sakurai Presents ‘Sephiroth.'” Mr. Sakurai being Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of the Super Smash Bros. franchise.
“I think he might be one of the most well-known villains in video games, aside from Bowser,” Mr. Sakurai says about Sephiroth. “He’s the legendary SOLDIER from FFVII. He possesses strength that surpasses human knowledge due to certain ‘cells’ that I won’t go into detail about.”
He continued, “I’m very excited for what’s next. The reveal trailer harks back to FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN. We just had Minecraft, and now FFVII AC. This dynamic range means my job is never boring.”
Mr. Sakurai then moves into game play. With a video almost forty minutes long, there’s plenty to see and learn!
