Strike the Blood Novel Series Prepares to Conclude Main Story

Gakuto Mikumo‘s sci-fi light novel series Strike the Blood first began its Dengeki Bunko print run back in 2011, and the 21st volume hit shelves in Japan this past January. Now the end is on the horizon, with Dengeki Online reporting that the main story will conclude with the release of volume 22 on August 7.

So, what does that mean for the series? The reason it specifies the “main story” is because bonus materials and extra short stories are already planned beyond the conclusion. Some of these materials are in the works for the rest of the upcoming OVA releases, so there’s still some Strike the Blood story left to be told.

For fans wondering, though, Mikumo put an end to one specific hope, saying “no parallel story featuring another heroine will begin after the main story ends. I’m sorry!”

Strike the Blood previously inspired a 24-episode TV anime, followed by four OVA series.
