Sony Is Auditioning For VTubers Until the End of September

The VTubers of Hololive have only just extracted themselves from one issue

Sony Music Group (Japan) is auditioning for the VTuber project VEE.

“VEE is the largest virtual talent development and management project in history, to be launched by Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc. or SMEJ, in 2021,” Sony explained. “We aim to debut over 50 virtual talents from this project, and in addition to life streaming and video production, we will develop music, voice acting and an array of creative activities for each virtual talent to make their ‘dreams’ come true. Sony Music Group (Japan), which has developed a wide range of entertainment businesses, will support the activities of the virtual talents by making the most of its know-how and solutions.”

You must be at least 16 to enter, and while you don’t have to be Japanese, you do need to be currently residing in Japan. You also need to be able to commit to one year of work. Sony’s audition page is in English, and you can check out all the information here. You have until September 30 to apply.
