Japanese audiences missed out on the Sonic the Hedgehog movie’s initial premiere plans due to a COVID-19 pandemic-related postponement. Now that the State of Emergency has been lifted, however, a new date has finally been set for the feature’s debut in the region.

Sonic the Hedgehog will now open in Japan on June 26. We’ll have to wait until later this month to see how much Sonic‘s already impressive worldwide box office climbs, but for now check out the latest Japanese trailer—which is pretty much just a poster showcase—reflecting the new date below.

There’s already a Sonic the Hedgehog sequel in the works, with director Jeff Fowler returning along with writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller.
