Adult Swim animated series Rick and Morty is mixing it up with anime once again, this time in a new short titled “The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara.” It all starts with a busted toaster and quickly spirals into some Halloween appropriate horrors and Rick’s realization that Akihabara has changed a lot in the 30 years since he was last there.
Sola Entertainment produced the short, with Masaru Matsumoto (Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars) directing and Naohiro Fukushima (Sayonara, Tyranno) writing the script. Morihito Abe (Batman Ninja) served as CGI director at CG production house YAMATOWORKS, INC. Check out the results below.
