Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City Trailer Goes Back to Its Roots

welcome to raccoon city

Director Johannes Roberts’s foray into the world of Resident Evil may be coming from Constantin Film, but it’s aiming for a distinctly different vibe than the long-running series of Paul W.S. Anderson flicks. Instead of carrying on with that story, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is going back to the source material to pull inspiration from the first two games in the series, and that’s definitely clear in the new trailer that debuted today.

Come for the iconic zombie introduction from the first Resident Evil game, stay for the interesting choice of “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes as the trailer’s main song, and look for Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City to make its theatrical debut on November 24.

Synopsis:

Returning to the origins of the massively popular RESIDENT EVIL franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games to life for a whole new generation of fans. In RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
