This year’s Free Comic Book Day will be August 14, and it marks twenty years of this event.
“The variety of this year’s comic book selection is really exciting!” commented Free Comic Book Day spokesperson Ashton Greenwood. “There’s something for every kind of fan, from the long-time reader to the comic book curious.”
And if you look through the list, you’ll see a few titles of interest specifically to otaku. VIZ Media will be offering up Demon Slayer and Zom100: Bucket List of the Dead. Space Pirate: Captain Harlock from Jérôme Alquié and based on Captain Harlock by Leiji Matsumoto is here from publisher ABLAZE. IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog: 30th Anniversary (with Sega clearly on the cover) is another. Yen Press is offering up Solo Leveling from Dubu and Chugong. And Kodansha is offering an exclusive preview of Rent-A-(Really Shy!)-Girlfriend.
