Photos Emerge from Live-Action Bleach Set

Back in August, it was announced shonen manga Bleach would be coming to theaters in the form of a live-action film starring Sota Fukushi (Library Wars).

Now a few photos from the set have appeared showing Fukushi decked out as main character Ichigo Kurosaki.

The photos, which show Fukushi making his way through a Japanese shopping street, have garnered decidedly mixed reactions on Japanese social media, with comments like “this is embarrassing,” “well, the sword will be worked on with CG later, probably,” and “I’ve seen cosplayers that looked better.”

Bleach is being directed by Shinsuke Sato, who helmed the recent I Am A Hero and the upcoming Death Note: Light Up the New World.
