The work of Magi author Shinobu Ohtaka is returning to the screen with the upcoming Orient anime, which adapts the manga of the same name. Now we know when to expect it, because the series is officially set for a January 2022 debut.
A teaser trailer arrived along with the announcement of more cast members. Check out the promo below, followed by a look at the latest additions and their character designs.

The Orient anime is being directed by Tetsuya Yanagizawa (I Want to Let You Know That I Love You), with Mariko Kunisawa (The Case Files of Jeweler Richard) on series composition and Takahiro Kishida (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) on character designs for the A.C.G.T. production.
Crunchyroll announced plans to simulcast the Orient anime as it airs and describes it like so:
Based on the manga by Shinobu Ohtaka being published in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. This is a story about Musashi, a 15-year-old boy who lives in Japan during the Sengoku period. Japan is ruled by demons, and Musashi tries to confront the demons with a certain special power!
