Studio david production, whose credits include Fire Force and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, is coming out with its very first original anime, Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse. Rather than being a title based on a manga or video game, etc., it has an original concept created by JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Golden Wind director Hideya Takahashi, who is also in the director’s seat for this project. Its story is credited to Fujiko Sakuno, and Akuto Sato came up with the plot.
The series will debut on Crunchyroll on July 2.
Looking toward the cast, here are the revealed actors:
- Taihi Kimura (Rengo Nishino in Flower and Asura) plays Narihira Takeru
- Maaya Uchida (Katarina Claes in My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!) plays Tsukimiya
- Ryohei Kimura (Arata Tsuruki in My Happy Marriage) plays Abeno Seimei
- Kaito Ishikawa (Tenya Iida in My Hero Academia) plays Astunaga
- Anna Nagase (Natsuko Hirose in ZENSHU) plays Yura
- Marina Inoue (Armin Arlelt in Attack on Titan) plays Kazura
- Chihaya Yoshitake (Yuna Hijirisawa in Love Live! Superstar!!) plays Shino
Hayashi Mori, who penned the film Drifting Home, is taking care of series composition. The music was composed by Masahiro Tokuda, known for working on You are Ms. Servant and ONE PIECE FAN LETTER. Credit for character design goes to Kazuaki Morita, whose credentials include Classroom of the Elite and Assassination Classroom.

Narihira Takeru is a delinquent who often thinks about Tsukimiya, the girl who appears in his dreams. After an unexpected accident, Takeru finds himself in a parallel universe, and the world that Tsukimiya lives in. When Takeru and Tsukimiya are slain by a monster, he awakens again and realizes he has leapt through time. Now, Takeru must train with Abe Seimei to fight for Tsukimiya’s life!
