One Piece Café Opens This Weekend in LA with Themed Menu

Specialty cafés are a popular thing in Japan, and after the success of the One Piece café in Las Vegas, it’s expanding into Los Angeles! While people have been able to preview the new location, it will officially open on August 2. The opening comes not only with specially themed food, but also with lots of giveaways!

Of the first 100 people, the first ten to arrive will be treated to a One Piece Cafe tote bag with One Piece goodies valued at $100. The fifty people after them will also get the tote bag, and it will have One Piece goodies valued at $50. The last forty people get the tote bag, minus the goodies inside.

Even if you’re not able to get these special giveaways, there will be exclusive merchandise you can buy there, including T-shirts, plushies, keychains and pins.

The menu includes some exclusives, like Sanji’s “Diable Jambe” Chicken Katsu Sando, Sanji’s Beef Yakisoba, Hatchan’s Takoyaki, and Robin’s Flower-Flower Power Refresher. There will also be artisan donuts: Gum-Gum Devil Fruit Delight, Luffy’s Passion Punch, and Zoro’s Gold Mark.

The café can be found at 241 S. San Pedro Street, Los Angeles, which is part of Little Tokyo.

VIZ Media publishes the One Piece manga by Eiichiro Oda and gave this description for the first volume:

One Piece Plot

As a child, Monkey D. Luffy was inspired to become a pirate by listening to the tales of the buccaneer “Red-Haired” Shanks. But his life changed when Luffy accidentally ate the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit and gained the power to stretch like rubber…at the cost of never being able to swim again! Years later, still vowing to become the king of the pirates, Luffy sets out on his adventure…one guy alone in a rowboat, in search of the legendary “One Piece,” said to be the greatest treasure in the world…
