One Piece Author Eiichiro Oda’s MONSTERS One-Shot Manga Gets Anime

Before One Piece, manga author Eiichiro Oda created a one-shot manga titled MONSTERS, and now that’s getting an anime of its own. The one-shot first debuted in the Shonen Jump Autumn Special of 1994, and follows a samurai named Ryuma whose situation gets complicated by a stolen Dragon Horn. The story has become canon to the lore of Oda’s long-running One Piece saga, and JUJUTSU KAISEN season 1 and JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 director Sunghoo Park is set to direct at E&H production. 

There’s no date at the moment, but MONSTERS will be roughly the length of an episode of anime. Check out the teaser visual and trailer below.
