Ohba and Obata’s Bakuman Debuting this Month in Japan

It’s not too often that an artist/writer team’s hottest manga completes its run in North America before their next project begins, but that’s been the case ever since the day we sat staring blank-eyed at the final pages of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s smash hit Death Note. What next? Sure, there’s the side story that ties in with the film L change the WorLd, but our hunger grows.

Enter Bakuman, a description-free title you’ll have to live with until we get a closer look at what the duo claim is an “explosive” manga. I personally don’t doubt it, and the proof-filled pudding will debut for all to see in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on August 11!
