A new By the Grace of the Gods trailer has arrived to preview more of the TV anime adaptation of writer Roy and illustrator Ririnra’s isekai light novel series. Funimation already announced plans to stream the series—and the novels are published in English via J-Novel Club—so check out the latest preview and get ready for the Takeyuki Yanase-directed outing this October.

With over a month to go before its premiere, I’m sure we’ll have another By the Grace of the Gods trailer or two to look forward to in the near future. Funimation will no doubt come through with more details on streaming plans as we get closer to the premiere date, too, so stay tuned for more information about that. In the meantime, here’s how the Japanese TV schedule is looking:

  • TOKYO MX: every Sunday during the 23:30 time slot starting October 4
  • BS Fuji: every Tuesday during the 24:30 time slot starting October 6
  • J:TV: every Wednesday during the 25:00 time slot starting October 7

Takeyuki Yanase is directing the anime, with Kazeyuki Fudeyasu on series composition for the Maho Films production. The main cast member revealed thus far is Azusa Tadokoro, who voices protagonist Ryoma. Check out a teaser below.

J-Novel Club publishes the novels in English and sums up the story:

When 39-year-old Takebayashi Ryoma dies from blood loss (after sneezing and hitting his head on the ground), he is reincarnated as an 8-year-old boy in a fantasy world. Not the greatest way to bite the dust, but at least he reincarnates! Set on this path by three major gods, Ryoma begins to live a life of solitude in the forest, studying slimes. But if you’re a fan of isekai…you know life for him won’t be that simple.
