Someone over at sports news site Bleacher Report is a Cowboy Bebop fan.
The site teased its coverage of the upcoming NBA playoffs yesterday with something pretty incredible: a video in the style of Cowboy Bebop’s opening—complete with theme song “Tank!!”
In place of Spike, Jet, Faye, Ed and Ein are NBA superstars like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and more. If you look closely, you’ll see even the boilerplate in the background has been changed to text about emerging underdogs and the rules of the tournament.
“It’s Time for the Battle in the Bubble,” ends the video, referring to the COVID-19-beating bubble the NBA has been playing in since the season began.
