One of the ways the Penguindrum anime is celebrating its 10th anniversary is with a new two-part anime film project, and a new visual is here to tease it. As one would expect from the series, the new visual is mysterious, and it’s fairly minimal in design.
The visual arrived along with the news of a new Blu-ray box printing in Japan this week. The film itself has plans for a 2022 premiere following a successful crowdfunding campaign that pulled together over 105 million yen of a 10 million yen goal.
Kunihiko Ikuhara is once again directing for RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM, with Lily Hoshino on character designs for the Lapin Track production. The original 2011 TV anime was produced at Brain’s Base and the theatrical versions will have new elements along with a compilation of the full series.
