Luffy Raises His Fist in Live-Action One Piece Poster

live-action one piece

It may not be a front-facing shot, but we officially have our first look at some of the live-action One Piece cast in costume thanks to a new poster for Netflix’s upcoming series. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) is front and center in the main visual, raising his fist as he prepares to set sail on a grand journey sometime in 2023.

You can see the main visual touting the release year below, and gaze above for the backs of some of the other Straw Hats, including Sanji (Taz Skylar), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson) and Zoro (Mackenyu), courtesy of the show page on Netflix that can be bookmarked now.

We’ll have to wait to find out how Matt Owens and Steve Maeda’s One Piece performs in live-action form. Eiichiro Oda’s original manga is available in English through VIZ Media, which describes the epic yarn like so:

As a child, Monkey D. Luffy was inspired to become a pirate by listening to the tales of the buccaneer “Red-Haired” Shanks. But his life changed when Luffy accidentally ate the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit and gained the power to stretch like rubber…at the cost of never being able to swim again! Years later, still vowing to become the king of the pirates, Luffy sets out on his adventure…one guy alone in a rowboat, in search of the legendary “One Piece,” said to be the greatest treasure in the world…
