Live-Action Yowamushi Pedal Film Drops First Full Trailer

Live-Action Yowamushi Pedal Film Drops First Full TrailerYowamushi Pedal is set to pedal its way into Japanese theaters August 14 via a new live-action adaptation.

The film, entitled simply Yowamushi Pedal, stars Ren Nagase as Sakamichi Onoda, Kentaro Ito as Shunsuke Imaizumi and Kanna Hashimoto as Miki Kanzaki. It’s directed by Koichiro Miki (Anonymous Noise).

Now we’ve got a new look at the film via its first 90-second trailer.

Included in the trailer is a taste of “Key of Heart,” the theme song performed by King & Prince.

Wataru Watanabe’s Yowamushi Pedal manga first debuted in the pages of Shonen Champion back in 2008, and is still running. It’s been adapted into multiple anime series, games and even stage plays.

Yen Press publishes the original manga in English. Here’s how they describe it:

For the love of all things otaku–anime, video games, figures, you name it!

Power-pedaling Sakamichi Onoda has long been conquering the steepest slopes and regularly making the ninety-kilometer round-trip to Akihabara on a mommy bike!! But when his bike commute to his new high school lands him in a confrontation with the serious first-year road racer Imaizumi, Onoda has a major showdown on his hands! Can this meek geek really out-pedal the future ace of the school road-racing team?!
