TOHO Cinemas is getting ready to open a new location in Ikebukuro, Tokyo starting July 3, and they’ll be bringing some beloved anime films along for the occasion. Among the starting lineup is a slew of work from Kyoto Animation, which is nearing a year since the devastating arson attack on the Studio 1 building.
First up on July 3 is the Munto movie Tenjobito to Akutobito Saigo no Tatakai and The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. Then, on July 4th, fans can look forward to the K-ON! anime film, as well as Liz and the Blue Bird and the rest of the Sound! Euphonium movies.
Other movies showing beyond that include all the Free! movies on July 5, the Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions movies on July 6, both Beyond the Boundary films on July 7, A Silent Voice and Tamako Love Story on July 8, and Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll on July 9.
That’s a lot of KyoAni! TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro also has a collaboration with Evangelion 3.0+1.0 under way just in time for what should have been its official theatrical release in June. You can see the characters from the movie hanging out at JR Ikebukuro Station in the visual below.
