Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV Gets August Theatrical, Digital Release

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, the CG-animated film that’s a key part of the Final Fantasy XV franchise, will be released in digital form August 30, reports ANN.

That’ll follow the film’s limited American theatrical release, which begins August 19.

To top it all off, Kingsglaive will be released in Blu-ray and DVD form October 4.

Those who have preordered Final Fantasy XV, (in either Deluxe or Ultimate Collector’s editions) will receive the physical release of Kingsglaive a bit earlier, as those editions ship September 30.

It’s not yet clear which on which streaming and download platforms you’ll be able to see the film on August 30, though we suspect it’ll be available from most of the big players.

Kingsglaive, which takes place during the events of the game, features Game of Thrones stars Lina Headey and Sean Bean as well as Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul. The film centers around Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII (Bean), the father of XV main character Noctis.

Paul plays the main character, Kingsglaive guard Nyx Ulric, while Headey stars as an oracle named Lunafreya Nox Fleuret.
