The JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 movie is coming to American and Canadian theaters on March 18! It will be made available both as an English dub as well as in the original Japanese with English subtitles, and will play in more than 1,500 theaters. In addition to that, it will be released in some IMAX theaters. Tickets will first become available on February 25, so you can’t buy them just yet.

Crunchyroll has released a subtitled trailer with the Japanese voices.

The movie will additionally be released in theaters in the Latin America, United Kingdom, Ireland, parts of Africa, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Australia, and New Zealand, with more regions still to be announced.

It is based on the prequel story JUJUTSU KAISEN 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School (Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Kōtō Senmon Gakkō in the original Japanese), which was released in America last year by VIZ Media. VIZ gave this description of the manga:

“Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?”

The movie is animated by MAPPA, and being distributed by TOHO. During the week and a half since it first opened in Japan, 5,671,950 people bought tickets for it, and it earned 7,714,084,650 yen (which is approximately $66.91 million). As it stands now (and it’s still playing in theaters, so these numbers are bound to change) it’s now the 50th most successful movie ever in the Japanese box office.
