In Japan, You Can Get Married with a Sailor Moon Marriage Registration

With, a popular Japanese women’s magazine, has more than its usual makeup and clothing articles in its latest issue. This time it also sports a specially designed Sailor Moon marriage registration form.

This isn’t the first time there’s been a Sailor Moon marriage registration form, though the new one — showing both Usagi and Tuxedo Mask — is especially atmospheric and dreamy. In the past the Sailor Moon marriage registrations have shown the Sailor Scouts and friends as they look in the anime. This, however, has the manga style, and is drawn by Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon herself. Usagi and the Sailor Scouts can also be seen on the cover of the magazine, which can be ordered here.

SoraNews24 reported that “Publisher Kodansha says it selected the Sailor Senshi [to use in With magazine] as a symbol of the power of friendship, kindness, and determination, all critical contributors to staying mentally healthy during the continuing coronavirus pandemic, which is causing many people to reexamine how to find happiness in their suddenly altered day-to-day lives.”

Many weddings are being postponed because of COVID-19, so it might be some time before these new Sailor Moon certificates get much use. Wedding certificates in the USA tend to be more low-key, but maybe we will see more designs on them in the future. If you were getting married, would you want a favorite manga or anime to illustrate your wedding registration?  If so, which one?
