It’s the end of a decade-long era with the final chapters of Patora Fuyuhara’s In Another World With My Smartphone novels officially out in the wild. Three new chapters, including an epilogue and prologue, made their way to self-publishing site Shosetsuka ni Naro, bringing the isekai series’ saga to a close.
The In Another World With My Smartphone story debuted in April 2013, with HJ Bunko picking it up for publication in 2015. Manga and anime adaptations followed, with Yen Press publishing the former and Crunchyroll streaming the latter. J-Novel Club publishes the original light novels in English.
The anime adaptation has had two seasons so far, with Yoshiaki Iwasaki directing the second and Deko Akao writing for the J.C.STAFF production. Here’s how Crunchyroll describes it:
The In Another World With My Smartphone Plot
After dying as a result of God’s mistake, the main character finds himself in a parallel world, where he begins his second life. His only possessions are the body that God gave back to him and a smartphone that works even in this new world.
As he meets all kinds of new people and forges new friendships, he ends up learning the secret to this world. He inherits the legacy of an ancient civilization and works together with the kings of some very laid-back countries on his carefree travels through this new world.
