According to an announcement from the Haikyou talent agency, veteran voice actor Motomu Kiyokawa—known for roles in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Hellsing and many more—has passed away at the age of 87. The cause of death was attributed to pneumonia, and the actor passed on August 17.
Kiyokawa voiced many notable roles over the course of his career, including Walter in Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate, Dr. T in Gungrave, Norman Burg in The Big O, Gargoyle in Nadia – The Secret of Blue Water and Shimei in Time of Eve, among others. In Evangelion he was known for voicing Kozo Fuyutsuki, a role he took on in the TV anime, Death & Rebirth and End of Evangelion films and the four Rebuild films.
A private family funeral was held for Kiyokawa, and our thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues.
