25 years after the original Neon Genesis Evangelion hit Japanese airwaves, you might assume the NERV logo has been slapped on every possible product known to man. But the folks behind Evangelion licensing continue to surprise us.
The latest Eva-branded piece of merch is a coffee maker: specifically, the “Nescafé Golden Blend Barista.”
Available for preorder starting today, the coffee machine features the NERV logo on one side and an image of Evangelion Unit-01 on the other. Other than that, it’s a pretty standard coffee maker.
The unit goes for 8,980 yen (about $85) and ships June 26.
The timing would’ve put its release at about the same time as Evangelion 3.0+1.0, but that film has been delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Other odd pieces of Eva merch over the years include eyedrops and nine-patty hamburgers.
