Eiichiro Oda Says One Piece Manga is 65% Complete

One Piece continues to be a fun series, even when its individual arcs seem like they’re never going to end for those following it on a weekly basis. What about the lifespan of the series itself, though? With the end of high profile Shonen Jump series like Naruto, and with Bleach soon to follow, the question came up to series creator Eiichiro Oda.

In the latest issue of promo paper Dai One Piece Shinbun Oda said the One Piece manga is currently 65% complete. With that in mind, some basic manga math (thanks, Scott Green!) concludes that we have about 13 years to go.

Since One Piece began in 1997, that means the series will have run for 32 years once the final chapter is released. The year will be 2029. How old will you be when One Piece is projected to conclude?
