It’s time to look toward the eventual end of Yohei Yasumura’s The Dungeon of Black Company manga. The series first started its run via Mag Garden’s MAGComi website back in December 2016, and now it has a date locked in for the beginning of its final arc.
According to the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the series, The Dungeon of Black Company will kick off its final arc on September 13, 2024. This follows the start of what was previously considered its “climax” in June 2020 around chapter 30. Author Yasumura previously clarified that it wasn’t ready to end at that time, though.
The Dungeon of Black Company was previously adapted into a TV Anime series in July 2021, with Funimation streaming at the time.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English and sums up the story like so:
The Dungeon of Black Company Plot
Kinji, who lacks any kind of work ethic, is a layabout in his modern life. One day, he finds himself transported to another world–but not in a grand fantasy of a hero welcomed with open arms. He’s immediately shoved into a terrible job! Now enslaved by an evil mining company in a fantasy world, Kinji’s about to really learn the meaning of hard work!
