Dropout Idol Fruit Tart Anime Drops First Visual

Dropout Idol Fruit Tart, the manga about an idol singer unit called Fruit Tart, is set to drop onto TV screens before too long.

The series was first announced back in May, but now we’ve got an idea of what it’ll look like thanks to a newly-released visual.

Hiyori Nitta as Ino Sakura
Risa Kubota as Roko Sekino
Haruka Shiraishi as Hayu Nukui
Reina Kondo as Nina Maehara
Kyoka Moriya as Hemo Midori

Based on a manga by Sou Hamayumiba, the series is directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Island) and animated at studio feel. Kawaguchi shares series composition duties with Tatsuya Takahashi (Ms. Koizumi loves ramen noodles) while Sumie Kinoshita (Forest of Piano) is in charge of character designs.

In the manga, which runs in Manga Time Kirara Carat, idol singer unit called Fruit Tart fight to save the dormitory where they live.

Hamayumiba may be best known as the creator of Hanayamata, which received an anime adaptation in 2014. The most recent volume of the Dropout Idol Fruit Tart, its fourth, was released in October.
