Dragon Quest Lands Tactical RPG for Smartphones

Dragon Quest tactical RPGA Dragon Quest tactical RPG is headed to iOS and Android.

The free-to-play game, entitled Dragon Quest Tact, is set to hit screens in 2020. As with many smartphone games of its ilk, it’ll feature in-app purchases as well.

The game involves you moving Dragon Quest monsters across a tiled map in turn-based tactical battles. With tact, ostensibly.

A free smartphone game it may be, but it’s going to feature big-name talent. That includes character designer Akira Toriyama, composer Koichi Sugiyama and general director Yuji Horii.

It’ll be developed at Aiming with planning and supervision from Square Enix.
