Cells at Work!, Doraemon Movies Come in Top 10 in Japan

Cells at Work! Movie Gets Trailer, Visual, More

Japan’s weekend box office numbers are in!

According to Anime News Network, the much-advertised Cells at Work! movie, Tokubetsu Jōei-ban “Hataraku Saibō!!” Saikyō no Teki, Futatabi. Karada no Naka wa “Chō” Ōsawagi!, came in at number 10 for its opening weekend.

Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Dinosaur has been out for five weeks, and was at the number 2 spot.

Kyou Kara Ore Wa!!, a live-action adaptation of a gag manga, held steady at number 4.

Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song, which had previously been at number 6, made its way up to number 5.

The movies Yowamushi Pedal and Love Me, Love Me Not, both based on manga, have been edged out of the top ten, but are still in theaters and selling their fair share of tickets.

Movie-going isn’t the same during COVID, but people are still attending. Do any of these movies catch your interest for something you’d like to watch?
