BEASTARS Author Paru Itagaki Debuts Horror Manga Ushimitsu Gao

Ushimitsu Gao

A new manga is officially underway for BEASTARS manga author Paru Itagaki. The creator’s latest is Ushimitsu Gao, a horror manga that launched its first chapter via Akita Publishing’s Champion Cross platform today.

In Ushimitsu Gao, 33-year-old housewife Megumi Sano runs into a unique paranormal situation. She’s already very sensitive to spiritual presences, and one night she sees a ghost appear while she’s having sex with her husband. Rather than being terrified, Sano finds herself humiliated at the fact that the ghost has witnessed her boring marital sex life. Unfortunately for her, the ghost starts making these visits a nightly habit.

Beyond the BEASTARS anime, which has its final season on the way this December, Itagaki’s SANDA manga has an anime adaptation in the works. The latter series first launched in Weekly Shonen Champion in July 2021, and has been collected in 16 volumes as of August 8, 2024.
