BanG Dream! Anime Gets Two More Bangin’ Seasons

BanG Dream! Anime Gets Two More Bangin’ SeasonsBanG Dream!, the anime series about a rockin’ girls’ band, has gotten the green light for both a second and third season, it was reported today.

The second season will premiere in January 2019, while the third will come in October of the same year.

It’s also been reported that anime studio Sanzigen will take over animation duties from Issen and Xebec, who produced the first season.

That first season ran from January to April of 2017, and was preceded by manga and mobile games starring the series’ band, Poppin’ Party.

Separately, a spinoff series called Pastel Life, which shows the everyday lives of band Pastel*Palettes, has also been announced.

Here’s how Sentai Filmworks describes the first season:

When she was a child, Kasumi Toyama (played by Poppin’ Party’s lead singer, Aimi) felt a heart-pounding thrill every time she gazed at the stars, and she’s been looking without success for something that could inspire the same feeling ever since. One day, she comes across a star-shaped guitar in a rundown pawnshop and, for the first time, discovers the thrill she’s been searching for. Kasumi becomes determined to form an all-girl band, and her search leads her to four like-minded souls: Saya, Arisa, Rimi, and Tae (all brought to life by the members of Poppin’ Party). Does this band have what it takes to make their dreams of stardom come true?

Did you know?! BanG Dream is short for Girl Band Dream.
