Bandai to Hold Global DIGIMON CON via YouTube

Digimon fans, get ready to Digi-volve together, because Bandai has revealed plans for a global online event to celebrate all things related to the series. DIGIMON CON has been announced to kick off via YouTube on February 27, 2022 at 10:00am Japan Time, which is 8:00pm Eastern Time on February 26, and fans will be able to enjoy it in both English and Japanese.

Here’s how the official English website describes the event: “The first iteration of DIGIMON CON seeks to be a celebration of all things Digimon, presenting a wide range of content for the enjoyment of people all over the world who love Digimon.” It will be free to view.

Content planned so far includes a Digimon anime special planning segment, a Digimon series game info segment, info on the Digimon Vital Bracelet Series, an announcement of the initial selection results of the Digimon Illustration Competition, and a special live performance by singer Ayumi Miyazaki.

As for that illustration competition, it’s being held in both Japan and the U.S. starting today and running until February 7, 2022. The theme is “Digimon’s cool or cute scenes,” and the Grand Prize winner will get ¥300,000 (US$2,640).
