Astro Boy Exhibition Celebrates 70 Years of Osamu Tezuka’s Classic
It’s been 70 years since Osamu Tezuka’s classic Astro Boy manga—known in Japan as Tetsuwan Atom—kicked off its serialization in Koubunsha’s Shonen magazine. One of the ways the series is celebrating is with an art print exhibition, which is set to kick off in Tokyo on June 29 and run until July 9.
Held on the 10th floor art salon of the Odakyu Department Store’s Shinjuku Main Store, the exhibition will feature around 60 prints with artwork from Astro Boy and other Osamu Tezuka works, like Princess Knight, Black Jack and more. There will also be original character goods for sale, so fans should have plenty to pick up while perusing art.
