Anpanman Marks 50th Anniversary with New Anime Film Announcement

The Anpanman series of children’s books by Takashi Yanase is celebrating a big milestone with its 50th anniversary, as well as the 35th anniversary of its TV anime and film adaptations. To mark the occasion, a new theatrical anime film was announced as part of the celebration, with Soreike! Anpanman: Roborii to Pokapoka Present (Go! Anpanman: Roborii and the Warming Present) set to open in Japan on June 30.

A 30-second TV spot made its way online to promote the theatrical feature, which is being directed by Toshikazu Hashimoto at anime production house TMS Entertainment.
