Change is good sometimes, but when it comes to an iconic voice, it can be more than a little jarring. With that in mind, Japanese website MyNavi asked its users what anime characters they would never want to change voice actors, and of course a handful of well-known roles topped the lists.
The poll results come in two forms: one shows responses from female users, and the other shows males. Momoko Sakura of Chibi Maruko-chan made the number one spot on the former list, in which 603 females cast their votes, and Son Goku of Dragon Ball Z rocketed to the top of the latter, taking 35.9% of the votes cast by 373 males. Here’s the top five for both:
Female Users
1. Momoko Sakura (Chibi Maruko-chan) – 31.7%
2. Son Goku (Dragon Ball) – 31%
3. Fujiko Mine (Lupin the 3rd) – 22.7%
4. Anpanman (Soreike! Anpanman) – 22.4%
5. Shinnosuke Nohara (Crayon Shin-chan) – 18.2%
Male Users
1. Son Goku (Dragon Ball) – 35.9%
2. Fujiko Mine (Lupin the 3rd) – 22.5%
3. Amuro Ray (Mobile Suit Gundam) – 15.8%
4. Momoko Sakura (Chibi Maruko-chan) – 13.9%
5. Minami Asakura (Touch) – 13.7%
If you had to choose characters who should never change voice actors, which ones would make the cut?
