Free! Prequel Anime Film Dips in with a Teaser

Kyoto Animation’s popular Free! anime is getting a prequel film, with High☆Speed! – Free! Starting Days – set to open in Japan on December 5. Based on the Kouji Ouji light novel High☆Speed, which inspired the pair of Free! TV shows, the film takes us back to the characters’ elementary and middle school years.

Yasuhiro Takemoto (The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya, Amagi Brilliant Park) directs, and you can see the latest 30-second teaser—featuring narration by Haruka Nanase (voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki)—below.
