The A Couple of Cuckoos anime had its hour-long finale back in October 2022, and now it’s time to look ahead to what’s next. A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 plans have officially been revealed, with the next chapters currently eyeing a 2025 release.
While we wait for more, the official accounts shared a special trailer and illustration to mark the occasion.
A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 Reveal
The first season of the anime was made at Shinei Animation and Synergy SP, with Yoshiyuki Shirahata working as the director and Hiroaki Akagi working as the chief director. Yasuhiro Nakanishi handled series composition, Aya Takano handled character designs and Rei Ishizuka handled music.

A Couple of Cuckoos Plot
16-year-old super-studier Nagi Umino, second-year student at the Megurogawa Academy high school, was switched at birth. On his way to a dinner to meet his birth parents, he accidentally meets the brash, outspoken, Erika Amano, who is determined to make Nagi her fake boyfriend as she never wants to actually marry. But once Nagi makes it to dinner, he finds his parents have decided to resolve the hospital switch by conveniently having him marry the daughter his birth parents raised…who turns out to be none other than Erika herself!
