The Monogatari Series: OFF & MONSTER Season anime is officially underway, but that doesn’t mean the characters are out of the preview spotlight. Along with a creditless version of the ending video, which is set to YOASOBI song “Undead,” a new character trailer made its way online to turn our attention toward the Marina Inoue-voiced mathematician known as Sodachi Okiura.

We previously got a look at Nadeko Sengoku and Tsubasa Hanekawa, with Karen Araragi following close behind. Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season premieres on July 6, 2024 with Crunchyroll streaming.
The Off & Monster Season anime is being directed by Midori Yoshizawa (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story), with Akiyuki Shinbo supervising, serving as chief director and co-writing with Fuyashi Tou. The series also marks the return of character designer and chief animation director Akio Watanabe at anime studio SHAFT.
Based on the novel series by NisiOisin, the first anime adaptation in the series, Bakemonogatari, aired in 2009. There have been four Off Season novels in Orokamonogatari, Wazamonogatari, Nademonogatari and Musubimonogatari, and the Monster Season novels include Shinobumonogatari, Yoimonogatari, Amarimonogatari, Ogimonogatari, and Shinomonogatari.

Spring break, an interval of time between the second and third year of high school. Koyomi Araragi encounters a blood-chillingly beautiful woman. The iron-blooded, hot-blooded, cold-blooded Vampire, she calls herself “Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade.” On the brink of death after losing her four limbs, she asks Koyomi to save her. After experiencing fear, chaos, and finally conflict, Koyomi gives his own blood in order to save her. But when he awakens, he finds himself re-born as her vampire kin. Koyomi wishes to revert to being a human from a vampire. However, he must take back all of Kiss-shot’s limbs to do so. Working as a negotiator, Meme Oshino stands in middle ground as Koyomi attempts to recapture her four limbs by challenging three powerful vampire hunters. This hellish spring break, the final one of his high school life, is only just beginning.
