The upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is getting a manga spinoff in the (digital) pages of Shonen Jump+, and the story is a doozy.
Here’s the setup: Doctor Octopus falls into a coma and awakens in the body of a Japanese middle school girl. Oh my.
The manga, called Spider-Man: Octopus Girl, is created Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, best known for their manga My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. The manga launches June 20.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has another cool Japan connection: the Japanese dub’s theme song is performed by LiSA.
