Girls Band Cry Anime Reveals Details, Music Videos

Girls Band Cry Anime Reveals Details, Music VideosLast month, we learned there was a new original anime series on the way called Girls Band Cry. There weren’t many details then, but, well, now there are! Let’s dig in.

The series is animated at Toei Animation, and directed by Kazuo Sakai, who previously helmed Love Live! Sunshine!!. Other staff members include character designer nari Teshima, CG directors Mari Kondo and Jae Hoon Jung, and composer Kenji Tamai.

Speaking of composing: you can already get your ears on some tunes from the series thanks to two music videos that were released yesterday — see below.

The cast includes a bunch of first name-only talents, including RINA, Yuri, Mirei, Natsu and Syuri. The in-series name of the band is Togenashi Togeari.

Here’s the official description of the anime:

In her second year of high school, the protagonist drops out of school and goes off on her own to Tokyo to pursue college.
A girl who is betrayed by her friends and does not know what to do.
A girl who was abandoned by her parents and is now working part-time to survive in the big city.
This world always betrays us.
Nothing is as it seems.
But we want to love something.
Because we believe there is a place for us somewhere.
That’s why we sing.
